The Biggers Law Firm, P.C. takes pride in our reputation of excellence and integrity in service to our clients and throughout the legal community. We recognize that the Biggers Law Firm, P.C. is the beneficiary of a rich legal heritage resulting from several generations of Biggers attorneys, with Dallas C. Biggers starting the tradition in 1920.
While not all attorneys at The Biggers Law Firm, P.C. are family members, the continuity of Biggers attorneys working together for over a century creates a mentoring atmosphere enabling the passing down of not only academic and legal knowledge to the next generation, but also providing invaluable insight and experience that is unmatched. The Biggers Law Firm’s attorneys have earned accolades from peers and prominent legal organizations, and our legal practices continue to be based on the tradition and principle of excellence with integrity.
The Old Red Courthouse, built in 1892 of red sandstone with rusticated marble accents, was the original Dallas County Courthouse located at 100 South Houston Street. It is now the Old Red Museum.
Dallas Biggers earned an L.L.B. from the University of Texas in Austin and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1920. He began his law career in Dallas, Texas.
Dallas C. Biggers founded the Law Firm Biggers, Baker, Lloyd & Carver in 1923. His firm practiced business, real estate, estate & probate, and general civil law. He and his firm came to represent clients such as General Electric, Co., General Motors Acceptance Corp., Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co., Columbia Broadcasting System, Cessna Finance Corp., and the Salvation Army, to name just a few.
By 1930 Texas ranked fifth in population nationally with 5,824,715 residents, including 260,475 people living in Dallas.
John Cramer Biggers joined the United States Air Force as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps where he served as a Judge Advocate from 1955 to 1958. Upon returning from his deployment in England, John joined his father’s practice at Biggers, Baker, Lloyd and Carver.
Kay Thomas began her working relationship with The Biggers family in 1974 when originally hired by Biggers, Lloyd, Biggers, Beasley & Amerine law firm as a receptionist. During her many committed years of service, Kay advanced through the ranks and ultimately retired in 2017 as The Biggers Law Firm’s Office Administrator. Her contributions to their success was invaluable.
At the passing of Dallas Biggers in 1983, his son, John was a managing partner of the firm. He attended Highland Park High School and then undergraduate and law school in Dallas at SMU. Consequently, he had strong roots in Dallas and was active in both the business and social communities. He grew up in Highland Park United Methodist Church. To relax, John and his family enjoyed fly fishing in Colorado as well as hunting in North and Central Texas.
Bank of America Plaza is a 72-story skyscraper located in downtown Dallas, Texas. It is the tallest building in Dallas and an iconic part of the Dallas skyline.
After finishing law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law, Ted Biggers was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1988, becoming the third generation in his family to practice law.
In 2005, Kathryn joined The Biggers Law Firm after working for the Dallas City Attorney’s Office as a Prosecutor and Eminent Domain Litigator.
Fourth generation attorneys, William and Huntington joined the firm in 2019 and 2020, respectively, continuing the family’s legacy of practicing law in Texas. William and Hunt’s brother, Bradfield Biggers, is also an attorney with a law firm in Los Angeles, California.
